The sole of this casual boot looks like it is made of natural rubber, which is often referred to as a “crepe sole”. Real natural rubber is beautiful, but also pretty delicate. For this boot, we developed a special mix made of natural and synthetic rubber. This gives the Tanker’s sole the look of natural rubber, but it is as durable as synthetic rubber. The calf leather lining and carefully designed last provide long-lasting comfort. This leather undergoes several specialised treatments and is ultimately coloured by hand. First, the leather gets a multi-coloured digital print to create the base colour. The print is then finished with a scale relief print on top. This relief print is stained all black and washed off by hand immediately afterwards. Washing off the black coating creates a beautiful shadow effect in the deeper areas of the relief print.
